Strategic Management
WORK MANAGEMENT:
This is probably the process where the bulk of activities is performed, and includes the breakdown process. This process is essential to be practical for your specific environment, your work force and the type of industry you are in. Responsibility allocation to activities is key to achieve effective communication within maintenance, engineering and production.
ROTABLES & REPAIRABLE'S:
This is an area totally underestimated when it comes to the cost involved; risk associated using external vendors and the impact on production if the equipment is not repaired to an acceptable standard.
SHUT-DOWN PLANNING:
Shut-down and Outage management is usually well organised and planned for, but decision making is not sensitive to expenditure and history not well recorded. The relevant drivers that direct to a shutdown are mostly maintenance related and insensitive to demand and supply.
BUDGET & COST MANAGEMENT:
Traditionally maintenance personnel are reluctant to incorporate cast and budget management in their work request decisions. Furthermore is budgets based on history and the zero based-budgeting principles not understood.
